Video: We Have Band-Divisive

London trio We Have Band like to deliver a bit of kookiness when it comes to their video's and their new offering for Divisive is no exception. Divisive is projected with a similar artsy flair as one of their excellent previous video's You Came Out and is definitely a floor filler you will want to keep playing. We Have Band release their debut album WHB on Naive on April 2nd (Irl) and April 5th (UK).

flz rch

I'm quite excited about the release of Foals second album. Yesterday on their various social networking sites the band revealed the release date for Total Life Forever, will be May 10th 2010 (May 7th Ire). Perfect timing for festival season I think.
The album was recorded in the latter part of last year at the
Svenska Grammofon Studion in Gothenberg, Sweden and you can hear a first listen to their new single Spanish Sahara on the Zane Lowe show on BBC Radio 1
next Monday March 1st at 7.30pm.

Video: Liars - Scissor

This is a great video to Liars new track Scissor, from their new album Sisterworld.
It's a pretty bizarre visual from the trio but it suits the track accordingly and sounds like they have gone back to the days of Drums Not Dead, which is a great thing.
This finely shot video features Liars eccentric front man Angus Andrews lost at sea trying to survive flying rocks. Yes an unusual concept but of course it works here.

Sisterworld is release March 5th (8th Uk) on Mute Records.

Video- Wild Beasts We Still Got The Taste Dancin' On Our Tongues

The mythical new single from Wild Beasts released at the end of March times well with their UK and Ireland tour. We Still Got The Taste Dancin' On Our Tongues is another ethereal offering from the bands Two Dancers album and as shown below it's accompanying video duplicates this affection.

Wild Beasts Irish dates are as follows:

The Roisin Dubh, Galway-March 25th
Cyprus Avenue, Cork-March 26th
The Academy, Dublin-March 27th
Support on these dates comes from Villagers and Lone Wolf.

Gorillaz - Stylo remixes (DJ Kofi and Labrinth)

Today I bring you two new remixes of Stylo from Gorillaz, the first from DJ Kofi and the second from Labrinth. My preference lies with the Labrinth remix which has a bit more impact and who also did a fantastic remix Hockey's Learn To Lose last year. Enjoy!

Gorillaz release Plastic Beach on March 5th (Irl).

Errors A Rumour In Africa - Video

Errors are a band from Glasgow that make terrifyingly fantastic electro rock sounds. Their first album It's Not Something But It Is Like Whatever was released two years ago on Mogwai's label Rock Action Records and the follow up Come Down With Me is out February 26th (Irl) and March 1st (UK). Errors don't just make straight forward electro rock but add plenty electronics and post rock nuggets to the equation mixing it up nicely.
Below is their new video to the brilliant
A Rumour In Africa. Puppets on a string anyone?

Happy Birthday to Hazel. x

Errors play Academy 2 on Thursday March 25th.

Local Natives - Airplanes Video.

I love the Local Natives album Gorilla Manor and they have just made a delectable video to Airplanes, a wonderful song with stunning harmonies that represents Local Natives finely.
They are due to play in Academy 2 in Dublin on March 10th and tickets are a steal at €13.50.
Take a peek at their video and enjoy what they are about.

Listen to the new Jamie Lidell track Compass.

So after disembarking from the soul train with Jim, Jamie Lidell returns with a taster from his forthcoming new album Compass, which is released here in May and includes some interesting collaborations with Feist, Grizzly Bear and Beck.
This track Compass is far removed from anything in Lidell's back catalogue which makes it all the more intriguing. It sounds much more raw than the polished quality of Jim and far less erratic than the frenzied electronica on Muddlin' Gear and instead he takes a stripped back approach.

Compass is released through Warp Records on May 14th (Irl) and 17th (UK).

The full tracklisting is as follows:

1. Completely Exposed

2. Your Sweet Boom
3. She Needs Me
4. I Wanna Be Your Telephone
5. Enough’s Enough
6. The Ring
7. You Are Waking
8. I Can Love Again
9. It’s A Kiss
10. Compass
11. Gypsy Blood
12. Coma Chameleon
13. Big Drift
14. You See My Light

Saturday night was a great start to 2010 for the Retro Revival Club as their first gig of the year in Le Cirk went down a storm. It wasn't all about the headline act The Len Price 3 who drew the biggest crowd of the night, as both The Pacifics and Moutpiece both played dynamic and spirited sets, warming the growing crowd up very nicely indeed. You can check out some of the action below.

Frightened Rabbit "Nothing Like You" Video

The illustrious Frightened Rabbit give us another taster from their forthcoming third album The Winter Of Mixed Drinks with the delectable Nothing Like You.

Released through Fat Cat Records on February 26th in Ireland this is one album I cannot wait to delve into. Scott Hutchison stated that
The Winter Of Mixed Drinks was not going to be another very honest and frank break up album and as much as I love Midnight Organ Flight and Sing The Greys it's intrigues me as to what shall come next.

Listen to Black Noise from Pantha Du Prince

The highly anticipated new album from Pantha Du Prince, Black Noise gets it's release here on Friday February 5th and you can here the album in full below courtesy of Rough Trade.
Black Noise follows on from the dream pop inspired Diamond Daze and the wonderful This Bliss.
Behind The Stars was the first taster of what was to come and it demonstrated how Hendrick Weber is one producer not afraid to step outside the box and experiment.
Guest appearances by Noah Lennox of Animal Collective and Panda Bear on Stick To My Side and Tyler Pope from LCD Soundsystem and !!! on The Splendour ensure a nice diverse electronic album.
It's not full on banging techno nor is it chilled out psychedelic electronica, it's somewhere in the middle
and damn good.
