Live Photos: LCD Soundystem Live In Tripod November 21st 2010

Last Sunday saw LCD Soundsystem take to the stage for a third time over the weekend to ensure it was one of the gigs of the year in Tripod, Dublin. Being a Sunday and a busy gig weekend about town, I almost expected a subdued crowd in Tripod, but wonderfully that was not the case as James Murphy and his band of merry men and woman, slammed out two fantastic hours of non stop party filled tunes. Personal favourites Losing My Edge and Someone Great were outstanding, while Yeah almost had the roof lift off the building. All My Friends finished the nights proceedings and the tingling down my spine told me that we were witnessing something quite special.

Video: Shit Robot - Take 'Em Up featuring Nancy Whang

Shit Robot has released one of my favourite dance albums of 2010 with From The Cradle To The Grave. A real treat for dance fans this year. Take 'Em Up featuring Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem fame on vocals in particular, is an electro disco anthem in it's itself with it's breezy vocal and synth-tastic rhythms. The video has just premiered over at Pitchfork and it was directed by fellow Irish man Eoghan Kidney who has in the past been responsible for some gorgeous video's from Somadrone and Valerie Francis and this is as equally masterful.

LCD Soundsystem 'Drunk Girls' video

LCD Soundsystem return next month with their third studio album This Is Happening and in a nutshell it's awesome. The first official single to be taken from the album is the tumultuous and brazen Drunk Girls, an all out sing-a-long from start to finish. The video is as equally raucous as the song and quite funny too.

It's safe to say James Murphy and co have come back with a bang leaving few disappointed.

Video: YACHT - The Afterlife

Judesays is responsible for yet again another video from Indie electronic duo YACHT and this time it's for the uber addictive The Afterlife, from their album See Mystery Lights. The video sees both Jona Bechtolt and Claire Evans being immersed in various masses of water as if being cleansed or baptised. From waterfalls to even a paddling pool, it is visually quite a gorgeous and serene video.

YACHT are set to join label mates LCD Soundsystem on their tour of Europe which includes two night in Tripod, Dublin on April 20th/21st.

Juan Maclean-Happy House Video

With a clever use of projections, shiny costumes and excellent choreography, Juan Maclean's video to Happy House is a work out in itself. Also it is a re-release single from his superb album The Future Will Come released earlier this year and features Nancy Whang on vocals.
Disco is making a come back but with more of a psychedelic, spacey edge as showcased recently by Emperor Machine's Kananana track and Erol Alkan's Disco 3000 podcast and DJ sets. Let's embrace it.

Juan Maclean-One Day: Video

Juan Maclean's new track One Day is in short, a disco house loving beast and features Ms Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem fame. Brighton electronic indie poppers Metronomy sprang to mind when I first heard this with it's quirky vocal. One Day is taken from the forthcoming album The Future Will Come out here through DFA on April 10th but it shall also be released as a remix EP with Marc Romboy, The Emperor Machine and Surkin all lending their remix talents to the track.
